December 6, 2024: UTSC Honouring a National Day of Remembrance

On Friday, December 6, 2024, the University of Toronto will join communities across Canada to honour the lives of the 14 women killed at Montreal’s École Polytechnique in 1989. To mark the 35th anniversary of this devastating act of misogyny, we will join together in collective grief for all those lost to gender-based violence as we share food, remember those who were killed, and look toward a better future. The Sexual Violence Prevention and Support Centre at UTSC will be livestreaming the tri-campus memorial taking place at the downtown campus.

Date: Friday, December 6, 2024
Time: 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Location: This event will take place in person at the Catalyst Centre (EV152)

Accessing the Catalyst Centre: When you enter the Environmental Science & Chemistry Building through the main entrance, you’ll see the Catalyst Centre on your left. The Catalyst Centre has a glass wall and is directly opposite the EV elevator. This space also has a street entrance, see the exterior door marked with “The Catalyst Centre.” The Environmental Science & Chemistry Building is located at 1065 Military Trail, Scarborough, ON, M1C 1A4.
